Document Translation Instructions and Translator Certification Language
Document translations can be performed by anyone fluent in English and the language of the document. The translator can be a friend or colleague, but should not be a family member. It is important to select a good translator because USCIS will rely on their translation(s) to adjudicate your application.
The translator should add the following statement to the end of each document they translate:
I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and [enter appropriate language] languages, and that above/attached documents is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled [enter title of document].
